Re:
Tiger Performance
Muffler
I
have been very happy with the Staintune exhaust system on my 2001 955i
Tiger. I am currently in NZ riding a bike just like the one I own, equipped
with a Thunderbike exhaust, this pipe rocks! It has much more midrange
than my Staintune, and also seems to have better top end performance
as well, and its quieter than my Staintune with baffel removed (my bike
runs much better with out the removable baffel that Staintune provides).
I am going to buy one of these pipes and have it shipped home, and dump
my Staintune as soon as it arrives. I've also tried Triumph's off road
pipe and found the Staintune was better. The Thunderbike pipe is well
made, at least as good as the Staintune (I get a very large discount
on my Staintune purchases, but still am going to switch to Thunderbike).

Speedmaster/America Sports Mufflers
Hi
there,
Just
to let you know that I have received the pipes. They arrived yesterday
and I put them on last night. It took about an hour to R & R them.
They went on without a hitch. Smooth and flawless. There's lots to say
about them but I'll sum it up with " Holy Shit!!!...These pipes
are freakin' awesome! The sound, the power the torque! This is like
a whole new bike! Thanks guys,...keep up the great work.

Thunderbike
Pipes Are On
Ok, here’s the preliminary findings for the Thunderbike Powersports
Pipes.
I ordered
them about a week ago, they got here very quickly. In fact they have
been in the US for 7 days, USPS is slow you know. But it only took 1
1/2 days to get to the US from NZ.
First
Impressions: after removing them from the packing I was very impressed
with the quality of the chrome and the weight. These guys are hefty
and are built very solidly. The chrome and finish is top notch, They
are identical in appearance to the stock long slash cut pipes, even
with heatsheilds, left one notched for shift lever. Nice.
They
have removavable baffles for those that want to know. They have a large
Stainless allen screw for removing the baffles (which is also out of
sight), which I have not tried yet. AND they also have removable heat
shields if you decide you don’t want them on and like just the
long look and no shields. They should fit just fine that way as well,
I left mine on. They are held on with nice Stainless clamps and easily
removable.
Fit:
You need to re-use your stock brackets and front clamp, no big deal
there though. They didn’t want to fit until I realized that I
needed to loosen the clamps for the heatshields and slide the shields
backwards a bit, then they fit like a glove, in fact, much snugger than
the stock parts. Nice and long so they slide forward further for a better
seal at the headers. They line up nicely and have a very nice look,
they look original.
Sound:
well, they are not really that loud. They are a little louder than the
Staintunes, louder than TOR’s, but not nearly as loud as my modded
stock pipes, sceptres, epcos, or Bubs/D&Ds. But that’s not
a bad thing. They do have a very nice and unique tone to them though,
and they have the Triumph sound for sure. But if you’re looking
for roaring monsters, these are not the ones. BUT, the baffles are removable,
who knows what you will unleash if you start yanking them out. I am
certain they will get louder than you may ever want if you yank the
baffles.
Performance:
Ah, now we get to the meat. Ok, I have to admit, I have the Mikuni carbs
and have been dicking with these rascals for a few months now. I do
not know of anyone that bolted these things on the first time and got
them to run perfect, if so, please speak up, I would love to hear from
you. I have tried several different pipes now but I will admit, these
are far and above ALL the others I have tried so far. The bike pulls
stronger, faster and has more torque than ever before. (Is that what
everyone wanted to hear?)
I still have some carb dicking to do and a dyno appointment next Wednesday
at 3, and I will post my results after that dyno.
In
conclusion, so far, I can fell a BIG difference in the torque and speed.
I mean BIG!!! I can honestly say these pipes, so far, are everything
they claim and at this time I give them the official "Dinqua Approval"
and a big thumbs up. Ok, two thumbs, they really are stronger!
Big
$$, ~$650 delivered, but I do think they are well worth it.
Great
job guys at Thunderpipes Powersports, My hat’s off to ya. and
I’ll be holding on a bit harder from now on.

Re:
Thunderbike Tiger Crashbars
Hi,
The bar was waiting for me on my desk today when I arrived, thank you.
I wish the Triumph dealer here was as efficient and quick as you guys
over in New Zealand. Thanks very much, once more for your help. Best
Wishes, Cemal
Hi, Fitting the crash bars was a piece of cake thanks to your excellent
instructions on the Web. After I finally found the right tools(this
happens to me everytime I try to fix something :-) ) it took about an
hour to get them in place. No problems at any stage. Post delivery was
fast, after 6 days you mailed the package I was on my way to pick it
up from the Finnish customs office. Thank you again for excellent service.
Very
satisfied customer, Jari Kinnunen.

Just a note of thanks to the boys at Thunderbike for the prompt delivery
of my new bars. At 10 days from order to delivery and 1 hour to fit
using the comprehensive instructions, impressive is not a sufficient
adjective.

My
'01 is now supporting a new pair of Thunderbike Crash bars. Total install
time 36min 45sec. And the crowd goes wild. The only area which appeard
to have been an issue was installing the Left top front bolt. Thanks
Thunderbike for a great product.

you might be interested in a couple of the pictures of my Tiger as a
testimonial to the strength and quality of the Thunderbike bars.

The
bike T-boned a car – the damage is largely self evident –
and appears to have come down very heavily on the right hand side. There’s
heavy grazing on the right hand side swinging arm leg just below and
aft of the eccentric. There is some grazing on the Thunderbike bars
but certainly not as much as I expected when I was told about the condition
of bike and rider (the bike’s in the US, I’m in the UK and
the rider’s still in hospital) and there appears to be no visible
impact damage on any of the engine cases. Remarkable.
I have
a number of other pictures of the wreckage that was once my Tiger –
just didn’t want to risk swamping your inbox or ISP with a few
megs of .jpg files. If you want any more, let me know. Meantime –
thanks for making and supplying a truly great product. I hope I don’t
ever get to do a personal crash test on the bars fitted to my UK Tiger!!
Certainly not to this degree of test severity.
